MKV to M4V or MP4 Conversion
Whats the fastest option for converting MKV's to a format that will play on the Apple TV 2?
I've tried VideoDrive's option 6 and the Handbrake CLI using defaults, but the process takes forever. Does anyone know if Elgato Turbo.264 is any faster? Would specifying parameters when using Handbrake help?
I think what I'm looking for is an option to not convert the video but just change the container and then mux the audio.
Thanks!

So I found out that if I choose to convert using option 5 instead of 6 and set Handbrakes option 5 setting to Universal its much faster.

This should be faster indeed. It will also produce smaller files, but the image quality will be lower. Conversion is always a trade-off between speed / file size and image quality.

Why not have a remux option so that video in h.264 format need not be converted? That way conversion would be under 2 minutes for a one hour file.
